Development background:
Development of the Worksite Analysis Tools included literature and database reviews in worker capacities in given contexts or social settings (Brandt and Pope 1997, WHO 2001, Homan and Armstrong 2002), existing evaluation tools (Gilbreth 1916, Bridges 1946, Nieuwenhuijesen 1990, Weisman 1990), and heirarchical task analysis (Astley and Stammers 1984).
Impact of these findings on the field:
Application of this data will lead to better accommodation of employees with musculoskeletal disorders in widely varied fields. It could identify gaps and potentially open the pool of jobs available to people with physical disabilities. It could lead to reduction in development of musculoskeletal disorders.
