Abstract: This is a five part presentation of the results prepared for the Navajo Nation Human Research Review Board and the Navajo people. Part five concludes with recommendations to promote successful assistive technology (AT) provisions for individuals with disabilities (IWD) living on the Navajo reservation. Proposed activities for all eight themes (living with a disability; disabled by lack of infrastructure; AT meaning, need, and use; AT-person-environment (in)appropriateness; AT service and maintenance; changing and restricted funding; transportation; and importance of local, consistent, culturally appropriate health services) and what can be done to help IWD become more aware of, acquire and have access to, and improve their satisfaction with AT devices and services are discussed.
