Development background:
In the development of the Work Related Relapse Risk Assessment, no literature review was done because no similar tool existed in the field. Some items are taken from the GRASP survey developed by Eileen Wolkstein at NYU. GRASP is a survey for ER personnel to evaluate patients
Development methodology:
Questions and methods were developed based on consumer input and the existing GRASP survey
Outside consultation:
In addition, other experts in the fields of vocational rehabilitation and substance abuse were consulted including Stout Rehabilitation Institute, RTCs in employment and vocational rehabilitation (VR), and VR agencies. The assessment was developed with a focus group of consumers currently in or released from treatment program It was field tested with VR clients with substance related disabilities
